Talie Elizabeth Nelson, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2024.  Talie was born in Machias on July 16, 1978, daughter of Carl “Sandy” and Mary Jo (Manderville) Nelson.

 

Talie graduated from Machias Memorial High School, Class of 1996, and attended the University of Maine at Machias.  She most recently was employed at Machias Family Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech.  Her departure has left its mark on all who knew her and loved her.  Talie brought joy and smiles to people around her with her contagious laugh, her tight hugs, and lovable demeanor.  Above all, Talie had a huge heart full of love that she spread to those closest to her.   She enjoyed listening to music, playing softball, collecting rocks, and going for walks on the beach.

 

Talie is survived by her parents, Sandy and Mary Jo Nelson of Roque Bluffs; her brother, Tristen Nelson and wife Sara of Roque Bluffs; her beloved niece Ava Grace Nelson; aunts and uncles, Judy Redler of Chestnut Hill, MA, Deann “Debby” DeLucia and husband John of Alpharetta, GA, and Norman “Dusty” Nelson Jr. and wife Rebecca of Manchester; cousins Nicholas Redler, Jeremy Nelson, and Gina Ludden and husband Jason; special friends Nicole Look and Rachel Davis; and her canine companion Wicket.

 

Talie was predeceased by her grandparents, Norman and Nancy (Hooper) Nelson, and Howard and Mary (Feeney) Manderville; her cousin John Redler; and her beloved canine companion Kane.

 

A Celebration of Talie’s Life will be held 6 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Machias Christian Fellowship, 3 Davis Road, Machias.  Donations in Talie’s memory may be made to Arise Addiction Recovery, PO Box 353, Machias, ME 04654, to help others who are battling addiction.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.   Condolences and memories may be shared at www.MaysFuneralHome.com
