Sheldon "Butch" Dennis Bishop, 72, of Eastport, Maine unexpectedly passed away at home on January 8, 2023. Born on March 9, 1950, he was the son of Madonna Robinson and Sheldon Bishop.
Butch attended Eastport schools then honorably served his country in the Marine Corps for four years. Early in his career Butch was a salesman for Ryder Trucks where he was recognized as the top salesman of the year across the country. Always a hard worker, he later worked for A. J. Cole, Gates Finer Extrusion, and Connors Aquaculture until his retirement.
The big loves of Butch's life were his family and cars, especially his prized 2007 Mustang. He loved fishing and NASCAR and enjoyed going to the New England Raceway to watch the races with his special brother Mike.
Butch was predeceased by his mother Madonna Robinson, his father Sheldon Bishop, his Grandmother Helen Robinson, his brother Keith Follis, his Aunts Charlene Townsend, Beverly Moholland, and Inez Segien, and Uncle Charles Robinson.
Butch is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tammi Bishop of Eastport, his children Jennifer Bishop of Saco, Shelley Bishop of Calais, Nicholas Bishop and his wife Liz of Calais, Jordan Bishop of Orrington, and Kimberly Bishop of Eastport, grandchildren Owen Begley, Bella Bishop, Justice Bishop, Oliver Bishop, and Maylen 'Boo Boo" Harkins, brothers Michael Clark and wife Vicki of New Hampshire and John Bishop and wife Gisela of Washington, Aunt Vonlyn Harris, Uncle Dickie Molholland, mother-in-law Jean Watts, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Calais VA team and the Fresenius Dialysis Center of Eastport for the excellent care Butch received.
