Sarah J. Bishop

Sarah Jane Bishop, 84, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Sanford, Florida.  Sarah was born in Calais on September 5, 1938, daughter of Kenneth and Ethel (McLean) Chandler.

After graduating from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1957, she married Sheldon R. Bishop and together they purchased Lila's Bakery in Perry which they owned and operated for several years. When they closed the bakery, she went to work for WCVTI employed as a secretary for The Boat School in Eastport until retiring in 1999. Sarah was a Communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Calais and member of the United Methodist Church in Perry. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading and loved bird watching.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her beloved husband Sheldon; two brothers, Robert Chandler and William Chandler; three sisters, Alfreda Malloch, Violet Beek, and Frances McCurdy.  Surviving is her daughter Cindy Lea Bishop of Sanford, FL.
