Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Jill Johnson, 69, who peacefully departed this life at her cherished camp on Meddybemps Lake on October 31, 2026. Sandra was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, on April 12, 1957, to the parents Raymond and Madeline (Higgins) Boddy.

A proud graduate of Calais Memorial High School, she worked in the local fish factories until Sandra dedicated her life to serving others in the nursing profession. She began her career at Barnard's Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), where she spent 23 years caring for those in need before transitioning to private home health care in Kittery, where she continued to touch lives until her retirement in 2022.

Sandra was an avid sports fan, bringing joy and enthusiasm to her loyal support of New England teams, including the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots. Her love of the outdoors was evident in the time she spent kayaking on the tranquil waters of Meddybemps Lake with her faithful dog, Willie, or simply enjoying the serenity from her porch. Above all, Sandra was a devoted mother, always present at her children's sporting events, celebrating their accomplishments with pride and love.

Sandra is survived by her two children, Scott Johnson and wife Heather of Fitchburg, MA, and Billie Jo Ham and husband Kevin of Robbinston, ME; nine grandchildren, Julio, Juan, Walter, Timothy, Henry, Emmalynn, Rainya, Karami, and Jared; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Marlene Parks of Calais, and her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerry and Penny Johnson of Robbinston, and Winnie Johnson of Robbinston. In addition, she leaves behind her beloved nephews, Jason Parks and wife Briar, Travis Johnson, Ryan Johnson and wife Kaylee, and Kyle Johnson, along with great-nieces Avery and Emery, and great-nephews Blake and Brantley, and a multitude of dear friends who will miss her warmly.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 12 noon at Brewer Cemetery in Robbinston, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Sandra's extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sandra's memory to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 5th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, or online at www.JimmyFund.org.

Arrangements are being handled by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared on Sandra's memorial page at www.MaysFuneralHome.com.

Sandra's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and she will forever be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family.
