Sandra Joyce (Williams) Bailey, 84, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Calais Community Hospital.  Sandra was born in St. Stephen, NB, on May 16, 1939, daughter of Harold and Erma Williams.

Sandra graduated from Princeton High School, Class of 1958, and married Harry Bailey on December 22, 1962.  They soon relocated to Connecticut where Sandra graduated from nursing school and worked for Saint Francis Hospital in East Hartford.  When Harry became a Maine State Trooper in 1966, they moved to Belfast, eventually settling in Belmont.  Sandra was the Belmont town clerk and tax collector for many years.  Following Harry’s retirement, they relocated to Grand Lake Stream where they operated the family camps known as Bailey’s Camps on Big Lake, where relaxation was not just a word, but a way of life.  Sandra was instrumental in the creation of St. Croix Regional Family Health Center in Princeton and served on their board for several years.  She enjoyed crafts, her cats, traveling, being on the lake, and family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Harold and Erma Williams, Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry Bailey; 3-year-old daughter Tina Marie Bailey; son-in-law Jarrod Damon; brother Dean Williams; mother-in-law and father-in-law Ruth and Frank Bailey; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Roland and Laurel Bailey, and Larry Bailey.  Surviving are her two daughters, Beth Ward and husband Wendall of Morrill, and Amy Damon and companion Scott Bushey of Grand Lake Stream; four grandchildren, Leah Ward and companion Jackie Morse of Morrill, Cote Ward and wife Sarah of Belmont, Bailey Dick and husband William of Monticello, KY, and Billy Damon of Baileyville; great-granddaughter Ava Grace Ward; “bonus grandchildren” Wade Bushey and companion Rebecca Leidy of Lebanon, and Taylor Bushey of Princeton; “bonus great-grandchildren” Myla, Natalie, Ava, and Stone; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rosalie Williams of Princeton, Bradley and Cintya Bailey of Clyde, NC, Clayton Bailey and companion Connie Libby of Princeton, and Lana Bailey of Grand Lake Stream; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
