Ruth V. Morrison, 85, passed away on September 4, 2026, following a lengthy battle with dementia. She was the youngest child of Frank and Sadie (Lewis) Andrews.

Ruth shared more than 66 years of marriage with her husband, Jon. Together, they raised five children: Sherri and her husband, Ricky; Brenda; Lisa; Jonnie-Jean; and Jon Y. Morrison Jr. and his wife, Kelli.

Ruth was a proud grandmother to Ricky II; Amber and her fiancé, Daudi; Summer and her husband, Jimmy Weaver; Andrew; Devin; Chance; Liliana and her companion, Colton; Keith and his wife, Esmei; Noah; Kaylie and her companion, Brandon; and Dakota. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Jay-Len, Daeshona, Daija Ruth, Maia, Eli, Wyatt, Adam, Kayson, Keith, Carter, Meily, and Ember, and great-great-granddaughter Oaklynn.

Her family also included Joni and her husband, James; Shelly and her daughter, Carmen; and James T. and his wife, Sheena. Ruth held a special place in her heart for her niece, Kathy Hooper and her husband, Ben, and her nephews Hank, Kim, Marc, and Peter Young. She also treasured the friendships she shared with Steve and Sharon Cannon, Peggy Foss, and Tammi Bishop.

Ruth retired from Eastport Memorial Nursing Home after 27 years of dedicated service.

She enjoyed playing cards, participating in the Red Hat Society, sharing meals at the Senior Citizens Community Center, taking a good fifty-cent tour, traveling south, and going on bus tours. Some of her happiest moments could also be found much closer to home, sitting on the front porch with a cold Coke and enjoying the world around her.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Sadie Andrews; her brother, Floyd; her sisters, Kay, Mary, Pat, and Lorraine; her grandchild, Patrick; and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of more than 66 years, Jon Morrison; her sister, Dorothy Tinker of Campobello Island, New Brunswick; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-granddaughter, extended family, and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth leaves behind a large family and many friends who will remember the life she shared with them, the years she devoted to caring for others, and the simple things she enjoyed most: family, friendship, travel, a game of cards, and a cold Coke on the front porch.
