Our Youngest sister Ruth (Ruthie) Ann Sawyer went home to be with Jesus on September 1, 2023. Ruthie was born April 22, 1969, to George and Muriel (Strout) Sawyer.
Ruthie was an artist, writer of stories and plays for her nephews and nieces. Ruthie was a caregiver her entire life but found time for her hobbies of scrapbooking and her collection of barbie dolls.
Ruthie had a special love for animals, and a very loving bond with her miniature horse, Loredo, who passed in 2021, and her dog Tanner, who recently passed in July 2023. Ruthie adored her guinea pigs Lacey and Teddy, cockatiel Isis, turtle Xavier, her pet chipmunk Brick and mice Moses and Bloss.
Ruthie had a very personal love and relationship with Jesus and dedicated her life serving the Lord as a small child. Throughout her life and illness, Ruthie continued to give God the glory each day, with her mantra being “Trust God and watch the miracles unfold.”
Ruthie was a true testimony, and witnessed to those she met, wishing they, her family and friends to know Jesus as their personal Savior. To know Ruthie was not only to see the Love of God, but to see her love for him as she continues even now in heaven.
Ruthie is predeceased by her parents George and Muriel Sawyer, half-brother William and a sister’s unborn child.
Ruthie is survived by her brothers David of Holden, Edward (Yunjuyi) of Anchorage, Kenneth (Wendy) of Whitneyville, Charles of Pembroke; sisters Marie Mills (Andy) of Dennysville, Karen Stevens of Calais, and Lillian of Calais.
