Ronald grew up in Perry. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and fought during the Korean War. After serving for over 4 years Ronald returned to Maine and worked very hard all his life, consistently providing for his family. He worked seasonal jobs, worked as a woodsman, and was employed by Gilford Woolen Mill and at the Fish Factories in Eastport and Lubec.

Ronald was a life member of the VFW Post # 11299 in Perry and was active with the United Veterans Honor Guard of Washington County. He proudly participated in parades and other social public events during Veteran’s Day and Fourth of July. Ronald was very proud to have served and contributed to his country and the communities near and far.

Ronald enjoyed cookouts, hunting, fishing and telling stories about his life but above all his greatest enjoyment was spending quality time and making new memories every day with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Family was his whole life, there wasn’t a thing he wouldn’t do for them. He truly had a heart of gold, was a giver, a compassionate caring, loving soul who would help anyone in any way possible. He was a very strong, brave, courageous man in all aspects. He faced difficulties and health issues with courage and great support from his loved ones. He will be missed and forever loved.

He is predeceased by his son Ronald L. Trott, Jr.; granddaughter Ashley LaPlante, father Frank Trott Sr. and Mother Ruth Hibbard White; siblings Fred Sr., Rodney, Gene, Donald Trott and sister Lila Bechard.
He is survived by his beloved wife Cecilia Trott, his daughters Vergie Trott, Trudy Richter and companion Rolfe Richter of Pleasant Point; Julia Trott, Alice Laplante and husband Vic LaPlante of Perry; and Debbie Levesque and Grace Trott of Indian Township; sons, James Trott Sr. and Darrell Trott of Perry; stepson Ricky Dana and wife Lisa Dana of South Portland; brother Frank Trott Jr.; four sisters, Jeanette Bartlette of Old Town, Vivian Chambers, Susan Clark, and Ada Raye; 24 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
