We mourn the loss yet celebrate the life of Roderick "Rick" Bailey, who passed away at his home in Calais on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 63. Rick was born in Calais on December 27, 1961, to Warren "Beetle" and Geraldine (Parker) Bailey. After completing his education in Calais, he dedicated his craft to auto detailing before serving as a lime kiln operator at Georgia Pacific. When his health called for early retirement, Rick's industrious spirit led him to embrace odd jobs in carpentry and auto mechanics, proving that his passion for work was boundless.
Roderick was an avid outdoorsman with a zest for life that was contagious. He loved four-wheeling, fishing, and cherishing moments at the family camp on Beaver Lake. His joy for playing horseshoes, washers, pool, and bonfire gatherings radiated through his friends and family, creating memories that will carry his legacy forward. His love wasn't limited to humans alone; he shared a unique bond with his canine companion, Bentley, and his feline friend, Kai.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Larry Bailey, and his father-in-law Norman Borden. Rick is survived by his wife Cindy (Borden) Bailey; three children, Ricky Bailey and wife Emily of Calais, Danielle Faulkner and husband Chris of Baileyville, and Gina Bailey of Calais; five grandchildren, Olivia Whitney, Parker Bailey, Fynn Bailey, Anastasia Bailey-Russell, and Noah Faulkner; his sister Tammi Seeley and husband Ricky of Crawford; brother William Bailey and wife Jessica of MS; mother-in-law Elva Borden of Princeton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bill and Carmela Warren of Robbinston, Mary and Terry Fraser of St. Stephen, NB, Cathy Bailey of Calais, Rosie Dearborn of Baileyville, Danny Borden and Brittany Rae of Baileyville, Norman and Rebecca Borden of CA, Tommy Borden and Desiree of Big Lake Twp, Maggie Borden, and Fred Dearborn of Perry; an aunt Lorraine Cline of Saint George, NB; the mother of his son, Lori Carr and husband Mike of Robbinston; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; dear friends Kenny and Lois Niles, Billy and Jeannie Lee, Jennie Russell and her family, Jenna and Franquie Hicks, and other numerous friends; his canine companion Bentley and feline companion Kai.
