Obituary

Robert Burton Booker, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Calais Community Hospital. Bob was born in Newport News, VA, on September 22, 1942, son of Burton and Lorraine (Henner) Booker. Robert's life was marked by his commitment to serving his country and his community. After graduating from high school in Wethersfield, CT, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an Avionics Technician on KC135's and B52's. His spirit of service extended to the world of technology after his military years. He moved to Massachusetts and worked in Boston for Memorex, before starting his own computer business, Pinebrook Computer, in Mansfield, MA. Robert's love for technology was incessant; he operated Cobscook Computer Services and even after retirement, he found joy in helping others navigate their computer issues. He was an invaluable resource to his community, always ready with a helping hand and a smile. Robert met and married the love of his life, Brenda Massey, in Massachusetts. Together, they moved to Eastport, ME, where they owned and operated the Inn at Eastport for many years. While his professional accomplishments were significant, it was his personal passions that truly defined Robert. He had an affinity for the intricate beauty of woodworking and the tranquility of gardening. His sense of civic responsibility shone through his membership in the Lions Club in Berkley, MA, the American Legion, and the Rotary in Eastport, where he dutifully served as Treasurer. Robert's life was a testament to the power of service, the value of knowledge, and the joy of community. Bob was predeceased by his father, Burton Booker; and a great-grandson, Dillon Plass. Surviving are his mother, Lorraine Booker of Berkley, MA; his devoted wife Brenda Booker of Eastport, ME; his children, Jeffrey Booker, Lori Booker Jorge, Timothy Booker and wife Colleen, Jennifer Lewis, Janice Rezendes, Joanne Williams and husband Charles, and Julie Plass and husband Richard; grandchildren, William Booker and wife Laura, Aaron Booker and wife Ashley, Kyle Jorge and wife Lindsey, Emily Booker, Molly Booker, Erin Lewis, Bryan Lewis, Derek Williams, Christopher Williams, Ashley Plass, and Brett Plass; eight great-grandchildren; and a great- great grandchild.
