Obituary

Rickey D. Jamieson passed away in his sleep with his wife by his side on February 20, 2025, at the age of 70, following a battle with lung cancer. Rickey was born in Corliss, West Virginia on December 23, 1954, to Harry and Lorraine (Sevy) Jamieson. At a young age, Rickey's family moved to Edmunds, Maine, where he was educated in the Edmunds Consolidated Schools and graduated from Shead Memorial High School in 1973. His passion for service led him to enlist in the U.S. Navy that same year. He found his soulmate in his high school sweetheart, Donna Farris, and they were united in marriage on August 17, 1974. Rickey was not just a dedicated serviceman, but a relentless learner. He retired as a Master Chief (E-9) after 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy. During this period, he earned his master's degree in counseling from Providence College. Life took him and Donna back to Maine, where he served as a guidance counselor for Lubec Consolidated School. His journey of service continued as he began his second career with US Customs & Border Protection, dedicating 20 years across the Calais, Lubec, and Eastport posts. Rickey's love for his community was as vast as the ocean, deep as the sea. He was a Communicant of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Cobscook Post #59 American Legion in Pembroke, and volunteered with the United Veterans Honor Guard of Washington County. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for hunting, fishing, and most recently, building a cabin with his best friend. Rickey leaves behind an inspiring legacy of love, dedication, and commitment. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Donna; son Rickey Jamieson and wife Jill of Miami, FL; ten grandchildren, Rickey Jamieson Jr. and wife Brooke of CO, Ty Jamieson of SC, Cade Jamieson of SC, Xakery Jamieson of MO, Alexa Jamieson of SC, Kristina Dean and husband Todd of ME, Katelyn Mitchell of ME, Addison Jamieson of ME, Jasmine Larrabee and husband Jackson of ME, and Tyler Batchelder and wife Katelyn of ME; nine great-grandchildren, Atlas, Esme, Terran, Gage, Adalyn, Asher, Briella, Madeline, and Brooklyn; sister Rhonda Crowe and husband Michael of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers Ronald Jamieson and wife Sandi of MS, and Robert Jamieson and wife Debbie of Dennysville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Richard and Tammy Farris of Eastport, Jean and Roger Wade of Calais, Karen Farris of Eastport, Lisa Farris and fiancé John Cox of Edmunds, and Sabine Farris of Perry; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family.
