Richard H. Merritt Jr

Richard H. Merritt, Jr, (Twitch) of East Machias, ME, passed away on February 1, 2024. Richard was born on June 17, 1956, in Machias, ME.  

Richard will be remembered for his woodworking skills and his enthusiasm for older automobiles.  Genuinely kindhearted, Richard generously gave his time to others.   He also possessed a wonderful sense of humor that offered perspective and acceptance during times of trouble and turmoil.  

Richard was predeceased by his sister, Patricia A. (Merritt) Haynes and his brother, Garry A. Stauffer.  He is survived by his mother, Elsie, daughter Patty, sons Michael and Corey, and brothers Donald and Larry.  

The family will hold a private memorial service.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
