Richard A. Blaney

Baileyville

       Richard Blaney passed away February 15, 2023, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

       He was a long-time member of the Spednic Club and worked all his life at Georgia Pacific Mill in Baileyville until he retired in 2001 at the age of 62. He was an honest and giving person. He would give anyone a helping hand whether he knew them or not, whether it was money or just helping them out with chores. He loved his Tuesday nights with his guy friends Frank Crosby, Eddie Hanson, Gary More, Gary Townsend, Paul Hood, Billy McLaughlin, Ralph Feck, Chad Seelye, Gordon Gallant, Larry Moholland and anyone who showed up to shoot the breeze. He loved to hunt and fish and watch wrestling with his son Darin. He took care of his wife Arlene when she got sick with help from Laurie Jones. He also in the last year has taken care of his son Darin. Richard was on the go person who never stopped and always kept himself busy.

       He was predeceased by his parents; wife Arlene; his son Robbie; sister Sandra; brothers Gary, Gerald, Jimmy, Alma, Danny, and John Harvey; and sister-in-law Joanne Harvey and dear friend Raymond Farrar.

       He is survived by sons Darin Blaney of Baileyville, Ricky Blaney of Portland; sister Rosalie of Canada; brother Ernest Blaney & family of Southington, CT; special in-laws, Frank & Sandra Crosby of Baileyville, Hubba & Linda Harvey of Baileyville, Marilyn Morrill and daughter Sheila of Bangor, Lee & Chad Seelye of Alexander, and Stacy Crosby of Calais; Special neighbors, Billy & Vicky McLaughlin of Baileyville, Laurie, Danny, and Martha Jones of Princeton. Richard will be sadly missed by family & friends.

       No funeral services will be held at this time. Arrangements by Mays funeral home, Calais & Eastport.
