Obituary

Phillip Wayne Washburn III, 36, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Phillip was born on January 6, 1989, in Waterville, Maine, to Mary Woodbury and Phillip Wayne Washburn II. From a young age, Phillip carried a vibrant energy that drew people to him. He loved music, dancing, and spending time with those he cared about most—especially his beloved daughter, Kira. Phillip had a passion for collecting, proudly building collections of Pokémon cards and Funko Pops. He also enjoyed playing video games and sharing laughter and memories with his family and close friends. His joyful spirit, humor, and kindness made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. He was predeceased by his grandparents Beverly Washburn and Phillip Wayne Washburn, his father Phillip Wayne Washburn II, and his nephew Zane. Phillip is survived by his loving mother, Mary Woodbury; his cherished daughter, Kira, and her mother, Deserae; grandparents Betty and Torbin Hunter; grandfather Robert Page; brothers Joshua Page (Lynn), Robert Page (Stephanie), and Joel Washburn (Ebonica); his sister Chelsea Washburn-Spear (Nathan); nephews Caleb, Noah, and Liam; nieces Lilly, Hope, and Maya; aunt Cheryl, uncle Peter Mallock; uncle Joey Hunter,cousins Nick, Matthew as well as many special friends including AJ Seeley, Brent McPhail, Brittany Seeley, Charlie Leppin, and Bill Ashley. Phillip was a devoted father, a loving son, a supportive brother, and a proud uncle. His presence brought warmth, fun, and heart to every gathering. He will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Mad Mardigan's Cafe, 28 North St., Calais.
