Paula Jean McLean, 76, peacefully left this world on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Calais Community Hospital, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. Born on November 21, 1949, in Calais, Maine, she was the daughter of Wallace and Elizabeth (Bateman) McLean.

Paula's early years were spent in Calais until her family moved to Massachusetts. After completing her education, she became a mother, raising her three beloved children, Christopher, Tracy, and Terry. As her children grew, Paula found her calling in caring for others, working in nursing homes in Arkansas and providing comfort and support to the elderly. Later in life, she returned to her beloved roots in Calais, where she embraced the simple joys of life-enjoying crossword puzzles, diving into captivating books, coloring, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.

Paula is lovingly survived by her three children, Christopher McLean, Tracy Ramsey and her husband John, and Terry Adcock; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings: Butch McLean and wife Rita, Gerald McLean and wife Jo, Sharon Fidler and husband Bill, Nancy McLean, and Peter McLean and wife Linda. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her dear cousins Brenda Bartlett and Peggy Fader.
