Obituary

Paul A. Stuart, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and teacher, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on June 9, 1955, in Eastport, Maine, Paul spent his entire life in the place he loved and called home. A proud member of the Shead High School class of 1973, Paul dedicated his professional life to the field of education, imprinting his wisdom and virtues on generations of students. He was a man of deep faith, a lifetime member of the Congregational Church, who found solace in spiritual pursuits. Known for his love of the outdoors, Paul spent countless hours hiking with his loyal companion of 17 years, Magnus Ruff. Their adventures in Maine's stunning landscapes were the source of endless joy for him. Beyond his love for nature, Paul was a connoisseur of arts and antiques, his discerning eye admired by many. His collections, each piece carefully selected, reflected his nuanced appreciation of beauty and history. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Joan (Porter) Stuart Sullivan and Arthur Wellman Stuart. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his sister Paula and her husband Skipper, his niece Bethany and her husband Mark and their children Thayer and Blaise, and his nephew Ben and his wife Elizabeth and their children Madelyn and Arthur. Paul's life was a tapestry of love, passion, and dedication, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, support, and love extended during this time. They invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Paul on his memorial page at www.MaysFuneralHome.com. The family looks forward to reading your comforting words and reminiscing about the life of a man who was truly one of a kind.
