Obituary

Nancy M. Simpson passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, at the age of 78. Born on May 19, 1946, in St. Stephen, NB, Canada, Nancy was the daughter of the late Fuller and Regina (McDowell) Morrison. From her birth until her passing, Nancy's life was a tapestry of love, service, and devotion, woven together by the strong threads of family, community, and enduring friendships. Nancy was a woman of many talents and passions. After graduating from Princeton High School, she pursued to further her education studying accounting at Husson University. She served diligently for over 20 years in the office at Georgia Pacific, before taking a break to raise her two sons - a task she undertook with endless love and dedication. During this time, she also worked as a substitute teacher and daycare provider, nurturing not just her own children, but countless others as well. Eventually, Nancy found her calling as the town clerk in Baileyville, a position she cherished greatly. Her devotion to her profession was matched only by her love for her children. She made countless sacrifices to always ensure her children had the best life possible even into adulthood. Recently she enjoyed being on her tablet catching up with friends and family, going out to restaurants, going for rides in her son Jason's old classic car, and listening to his music and singing. For the past almost 10 years she has lived with and been cared for by her son Jason as she battled cancer and numerous other illnesses. Both her children describe her as being the strongest person they know. She was a fighter and even through the many medical trials and tribulations she endured, she never once wavered in her love and dedication to her kids. Always putting their wants, needs, and care ahead of her own no matter what she was going through at the time. Her kids were her whole world and she was their's. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Fuller and Regina Morrison, her brother Blair Morrison, and cousin, Junior Fisher. However, her spirit lives on in those who survive her - her two sons, Michael Simpson and his companion Andrea Castro of Orlando, FL, and Jason Simpson of Milford; her sister Connie Crosby and husband Wayne of Calais; her sister-in-law Carol Morrison of Milbridge; her niece and nephews, Michelle Crosby, Wayne Crosby Jr, and Brian Morrison; many dear friends, and her feline companion Luna.
