Robbinston – Michele Marie Critchley, 70, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Michele was born in Everett, MA on February 16, 1949, daughter of Malcolm and Marion (Owens) Cushing.
After graduating from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1967, Michele moved to Massachusetts where she worked for Polaroid and as a bank teller for the local banks. On February 7, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard Critchley. They eventually relocated back to Maine where they raised their children. After the children were out of school, Michele worked for Little River Apparel and most recently was employed at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. She was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church in Eastport. Michele enjoyed going on casino trips with her best friend Cory, but above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Michele was predeceased by a brother, Michael Cushing and his wife Jean of Westbrook. Surviving are her beloved husband of 50 years, Richard Critchley; three children, Richard Critchley and wife Kristi of Robbinston, Thomas Critchley and wife Melissa of Robbinston, and Angela Cook and husband Jason of Charlotte; six grandchildren who she loved dearly, Tyra, Sidney, Dawson and Brenna Critchley, and Lauren and Jace Cook; her siblings, Martha McIntyre and husband Dennis of Calais, Marilyn Whelpley and husband Michael of Florida, Marsha Morse and husband Kenneth of Tewksbury, MA, Malcolm Cushing and wife Norma of Pembroke, and Martin Cushing and wife Maureen of Bangor; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Benjamin and Corliss Critchley of Rochester, NY, and Paul Critchley and companion Martha Brickett of Robbinston; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 112 County Rd., Eastport with Pastor John Romano officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
