Obituary

Michael MacArthur, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Calais on February 22, 2026. Born on March 1, 1958, in Princeton, ME, to Freeman L. MacArthur and Phyllis M. (Mohollond) MacArthur, Michael, known affectionately by most as Mike, lived a life characterized by a deep love for family, a passion for all things automotive, and an unyielding spirit of camaraderie. Mike's zest for life was vividly displayed through his many endeavors and interests. A devoted father, he cherished his two sons and grandchildren, finding joy in the simple pleasure of their company. His love for the thrill of the ride, be it on a side x side trip with family and friends or at the racetrack, mirrored his adventurous spirit. A seasoned mechanic, Mike had a knack for breathing new life into old vehicles and an eye for a great deal. His daily trips to Dunkin Donuts became a cherished routine, a testament to his love for friendly banter and good company. A collector of NASCAR memorabilia, he also had a soft spot for car shows, where he would often be found, with his boys, admiring the gleaming machines. Surviving Mike are the love of his life and best friend, Sherri Windsor; their two sons, Craig Windsor (Jennifer) and Michael MacArthur Jr. (Angelina); their grandchildren, Chase, Windsor (Santana), Logan MacArthur, Cameron Windsor, and Sophia MacArthur; a great-granddaughter Mabel Windsor; his sister Wilhelmina Hunter and brother-in-law David; his beloved dog Mazie; three great friends, Rob Willey, Gene Bonoit, and Dwayne Tomah; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Freeman "Bo" MacArthur Jr, Linda Leonard, and Lillian Black; a special uncle who was like a father, Harvey Mohollond; and a dear sister-in-law, Darlene Weymouth (Windsor), whom he loved dearly. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice nurses who provided immense care, love, and respect to Mike and his family, including his Mazie girl. Arrangements are being taken care of by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In accordance with Mike's wishes, there will not be any services.
