Mary Delia Trott, known affectionately as Delia, was born on August 12, 1939, to the late Maxwell and Angela (Francis) Barnes. She passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on September 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, determination, and kindness.
Delia was a woman of many talents and great diligence. Her formative years were shaped by the teachings at Sipayik Elementary School and Shead High School. Her adventurous spirit took her to Connecticut for work, but the call of her hometown, Pleasant Point, was too strong to resist. Delia's professional life was as diverse and versatile as her personality. From working at Guilford Woolen Mill, local sardine factories, clam digging, to making Christmas wreaths, she wore many hats with grace and competency. Her love for life was infectious and found expression in her fondness for bingo, card games, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and an affection for the Hallmark Channel and westerns. Delia was a beacon of light in the lives of many, illuminating the world with her radiant spirit and unwavering zest.
Delia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred Trott Sr., her sons John, Edward, Fred Jr., and Maxwell Trott, her grandson Rodney Cyr, and her brothers Maxwell "Chick" Barnes and William Barnes. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving children, Rodney Trott and his wife Elizabeth, and Nancy Trott and her companion Loring Totman; her grandchildren, Holly Brown, Nichole Dearth, Sonja Trott, Matthew Trott, and Allison Newland; her great-grandchildren, Joel White, and Morgan and Kameron Dearth; her brothers, Sam, James, Edward, and Gerald Barnes, and Tony LaCoute; her sisters, Sylvia Corson, Sandra Murphy, and Frances LaCoute; her lifelong friend, Eva "Tootie" Benner; and many nieces and nephews.
