Mary Harriet Larkin, 82, passed away on home surrounded by family on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Mary was born in Eastport on September 16, 1939, daughter of Ralph and Evelyn (Dana) Francis.
After attending school at Pleasant Point, Mary was fortunate enough to live throughout the United States. She worked as a seamstress, blackjack dealer, line production worker for Thermos, and enjoyed most her work with traditional Native American arts. When she returned home in the 1970’s, Mary worked on the water fishing for eels and wrinkling. Mary loved her family above everything else and was proud to have seven sets of five generations.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by three sisters, Carolyn Mahoney, Mary Gina Douchette, and Georgina Gonzales; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Surviving are her six children, Daureen Flores and husband Leo, Kenneth Larkin, Viola Francis and husband Paul, Cecil “Scott” Larkin, Lori Cantara, all of Pleasant Point, and Dale Larkin and wife Veronica of Harrisburg, PA; twelve grandchildren, Theresa, Andrea, Jeremy, Heather, Deora, Takoda, Amanda, Seth Sr., Nicholas, Dale Jr., Lacota and Maquoddy; 22 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Autumn, Tayhia, Kendall, Devon, Kendra, Wesley, Christopher N., Talon, Serenity, Cadence, Authwen, Beckham, Sammy Jr., Nathaniel, Christopher A., Jordan, Taylor-Shaye, Aliza, Seth Jr., Hazel and Blake; nine great-great grandchildren, Everett, Felix, Hazel, Jaycee, Haven, Easton, Malaya, Hunter and Isabella-Rose; siblings Sally Connelly and husband James of Stonington, CT, Ralph “Tonto” Francis of Pleasant Point, Jackie Bassett and husband Leo of Leadyard, CT, Rhonda Francis of Taftville, CT, Elaine Perry of Uncasville, CT, and Floyd Francis of Pleasant Point; one of her special caregivers, Joyce Tomah “China Doll”; and numerous cousins and extended family.
