Obituary

Calais, Maine - Marjorie Ann Chapman, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024.  She was born February 25, 1936 in Alton, Illinois, daughter of Lloyd and Velma (Buhs) Cochran.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Baysden, of Illinois and Steven Baysden, of Texas. Marge grew up in a large family with nine siblings and is survived by one brother Robert Cochran, of Missouri, and one sister Norma Hauck, of Illinois.  As a young woman, Marge studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and grew to love her creator, dedicated her life to Him and was baptized June 10, 1956.  She was most recently a member of the Calais Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She enjoyed being with the friends in the congregation and everyone enjoyed her wit and humor. Her relationship with Jehovah comforted her as her health declined.

A memorial service will be held at the Calais Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8 Odey Lane, Calais, Maine, on Saturday, February 17 at 1 PM.   The service will also be streamed through Zoom video conferencing. The sign in credentials are ID 822 4497 7035 and password 135298.
