Marilyn D. Howard, wife of Willard "Billy" Howard, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2025. Marilyn was born in Houlton, ME, on September 13, 1936, the daughter of Perley London and Lois Hanning.
Marilyn and Billy bought their home in Princeton in 1961, where they raised six children and remained there for the rest of their lives. Marilyn was a housewife and mother first in everything she did. She was a master at cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, canning, cake decorating, and any task she took on. She was quick to accomplish. Marilyn had several jobs that she mastered; a seamstress, waitress, baker, cook, and several other professions. Marilyn co-owned The Family Greenhouse.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Billy Howard; son Clay Howard; grandsons Clint Brown and Willard "Trapper" Howard; granddaughter Tiffany Howard; and two nephews, Chuck and Fred Howard. Surviving are five children, Willard "Larry" Howard and wife Paulette, Anna Ward and Husband Bert, Twyla Bryant and husband Gary, Tina Crowe and husband Rick, and Cindy Comeau and husband Paul; sister Janice Howard; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Marilyn's Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Princeton Rod & Gun Club on Greenland Point Road in Princeton. A private burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Plantation 21. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Willard T. Howard Scholarship Fund at the Down East Credit Union in Baileyville. Arrangements are being handled by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
