Obituary

With a smile that could light up a room and a heart full of love, Maegan R. Shannon, born on June 25, 1986, in Brunswick, ME, USA, has left us on April 21, 2026. Maegan was the type of person who saw the world through rose-colored glasses, and she had a knack for making everyone she met feel like the most special person in the world. A proud daughter, sister, Aunt, and mother, she was the biggest cheerleader for her loved ones, always quick to celebrate their achievements, no matter how big or small. In her heart, her father and older brother were heroes, her younger brother a success story, and her beloved daughter Hannah the shining star. Maegan was a woman of simple pleasures: a good fishing trip, an outdoor adventure, a cozy movie night at home, or annual failed attempts at gardening. She had an undeniable love for the camp and a special knack for finding joy in the smallest things. And even though she was not the best gardener, she never gave up trying, and she enjoyed it despite the outcome. Her partner, Chad McGouldrick, was her rock and her source of pride, and together they shared countless memories. Maegan's love for her daughter Hannah was profound and endless. Whether it was her athleticism, her school achievements, or her art, Maegan was Hannah's biggest fan. She was a proud mother, always showing off Hannah's report cards or pictures on the court. Hannah, remember that your mother loved you deeply and did her best. Maegan was predeceased by her mother, Leisa Norris, and her grandfather, John Shannon. She is survived by her father, Dale Shannon and his partner Linda Richards, her daughter Hannah; Chad McGouldrick, her loving partner; her brother Michael Shannon and wife Jennifer, and brother Ryan Shannon; Grandmothers Linda Dickenson and Audrey Cecil; 3 special nieces Kylianne, Liliana, and Nori; and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She also leaves behind her furbaby Mickey. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1 pm, at Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke, Maine. Arrangements are by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Please join us in remembering Maegan by leaving your memories and photos on her memorial page at www.MaysFuneralHome.com. Her unique spirit and infectious love for life will be remembered eternally. Rest in peace, Maegan. You will always be in our hearts.
