Madeline Warr Seeley (Russell), 91, passed away October 13, 2024, during her stay in Marshall’s Health Care Facility in Machias. She was born in Calais on November 5, 1932, to Horace and Virginia (Vickery) Russell.

Madeline grew up in Calais then moved to Berlin, NH to work at Wareknitters for a short time. After returning to Calais, she started her family life in Red Beach. She worked as a stitcher at Wareknitters in Calais, then later, took CNA training and went to work for Atlantic Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Calais as a Certified Nurses Aid until its closure. She loved her work there. Her knowledge of care set a standard for her requirements once admitted to Marshall’s. She also enjoyed gardening, animals, and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, Horace and Virginia Russell, she was predeceased by a daughter Priscilla Seeley, sisters Joyce Poole, Jean Thornton, and Marilyn Gomez, as well as a grandson, Jeremy Linton.

She is survived by her daughter, Youvonne Sawyer and husband John, of Calais, grandsons Chris Linton and wife Gwen of Franklin, NH and Jason Linton and partner Tina of St. Petersburg, Fl., as well as nieces, nephews, and great-grand-children.

A private service is going to be held at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
