Lynne Marie Turmenne, 71, of Calais. Maine, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on September 7, 1953, in Berlin, New Hampshire, Lynne was a vibrant and loving woman who brought warmth, laughter, and creativity to those who knew her.
From an early age, Lynne had a deep love for animals, especially horses. Her artistic spirit was reflected in her gift for writing and her talent for storytelling. She treasured time spent around the kitchen table, sharing stories and laughter with family and friends — a tradition that brought her so much joy.
Lynne's greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren: Haley, Sydney, and Lucas. She held a special bond with each of them and found endless happiness in watching them grow. She also shared a lifelong connection with her cousins, often reminiscing about their mischievous adventures and fond memories from childhood.
Her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses was an integral part of her life. Lynne's love for Jehovah and her hope in the promises found in the Bible were a source of strength and comfort, and she eagerly shared those beliefs with anyone who would listen.
Lynne was predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years, Richard David Turmenne; her father, Albert DeChamplain; her mother, Marilyn Gomez (Russell); and her stepfather, Thomas Gomez.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Amber and husband Nicholas French of China, Maine, and Wynter McPhail of Hermon, Maine. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Haley Laird of Halifax, Nova Scotia; Sydney Laird & partner Caleb Hotham of Albion, Maine; and Lucas McPhail of Calais, Maine. Lynne is also survived by her loving sisters, Virginia Phillips of St. Stephen, NB, and Susan and husband Ron Stover of Calais, Maine, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her deeply.
Lynne will be remembered for her kind heart, deep faith, and the unconditional love she gave to all who were blessed to know her.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be a celebration of life for family later this summer.
