On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Luke A. Knowles, a vibrant soul blessed with a passion for life and a love for the outdoors, made his peaceful transition surrounded by family at his father's home in Alexander, Maine. Born on November 6, 2003, in Calais, Maine, to Steven Knowles and April (Perkins) Knowles, Luke's enthusiasm for life and his never-give-up spirit made every moment with him a precious memory.
The son of Steven and April Knowles, Luke was a beacon of joy, strength and love to his family, friends, and community. His life in Alexander was characterized by a deep love for the outdoors, an adventurous spirit, and a passion for mechanics. A proud graduate of Woodland High School, class of 2022, Luke was a dedicated laborer who poured his heart into his work, helping on his family's farm, tending the cattle, and working seasonal jobs. His enthusiasm for life was infectious; whether he was riding his 4-wheeler, snowmobile, tractors or simply playing Xbox against his older brother, Luke lived each moment to the fullest.
In August of 2024, Luke was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Displaying the same courage and resilience he had shown throughout his life, Luke battled the disease with unwavering integrity. His tenacity was an inspiration to all, and his memory will serve as a testament to his enduring spirit.
Luke is survived by his loving parents, Steven Knowles and April Knowles; his siblings, Seth Knowles, Stephanie Knowles, and Avery Porter; his grandparents, Merle and Ruth Knowles, Beverly Reardon, and Dennis Perkins; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will also be fondly remembered by special friends Dylan Thompson, Alyssa Stevens, Josh Jordan, and Dyllon Edgerly who ensured that his love for the outdoors remained undimmed during his illness. His faithful canine companions, Loki and Boomer, also mourn his loss.
