Our loving Luis Antonio Mendoza unexpectedly passed away on October 12th, 2026. On July 4th, 2006, James and Jillian Mendoza blessed us with the sweetest person to have the honor of knowing, Luis.
Luis was Home: he can be found in the beauty of colorful fall or winter trees; during a car ride with the best playlist he put on; in the playful spirit of mud on our shoes in spring from four-wheeling; and in the calm, warm feeling of sunny camp days. He was as sweet as donuts hanging on Halloween, or fresh lemonade- you know, the ones you can never have enough of. He can be found in the laughter echoing through apple orchards; in the humour of building up the courage to go on that roller-coaster; or simply in the comfort of a sunset walk.
He always knew just what to say, never failing to go the extra mile- he would do anything to make you happy, and to help.
Luis was selfless; a beacon of light and ball of sunshine. He was strong like the beating of his drum he loved to play. The belonging feeling you get when you know you are right where you are meant to be, giving the best advice where you felt valued and respected. Lu was the person you could go to for anything, he would give the shirt off his back, offer ceremony for healing, a shoulder to lean on, a great haircut if needed. He was a fishing buddy, a golfing partner, a goalie in net, a wingman, a pro sparring mate in Karate or wrestling, the best gym bro and trainer, making sure people were achieving their goals.
He loved music, to paint, sing, dance, build, read and had big dreams and aspirations. He was multi-talented and skilled. Luis strived to learn everything and man could he throw together the perfect outfit while doing it. Luis was passionate, driven, and resilient. His sense of humor was like no other and he truly added joy to our lives. He was that person you looked forward to seeing every day, the kind of person who could make an ordinary day feel special just by being there. He made you feel at home, because home isn't a place or just a person we can summarize in a page; It's the greatest feeling of all; love. Love is Patient, love is Kind. Luis was and always will be just Love.
Luis was predeceased by: Bis abuela and Tio Petrona Corbalan and Manuel Suarez, Great Aunts/Uncles Gail, Lori, Howard & Timothy Stevens, Uncle Mark, friend George Bailey, "fake" Brother Jack Downing, and Best Friend Sasha Bean.
He is survived by maternal grandparents, Mark and Jacqueline Stevens, paternal grandparents Jose and Martina Mendoza-Suarez, Parents and sissy James, Jillian and Gabriella Mendoza, Uncles/Aunts (Boo Boo) Beth Meader, Scott and Darren, Tom and Lori Meader, Mariah and late Tony Thurlow, Aunty-Tia Jasmine Arroyo-Mendoza and Felix.
