Obituary

Lois Pearle (Carson) Dwelley, 88, beloved wife of 60 years to the late Embert E. Dwelley, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, Connecticut.

Born on August 27, 1937, in Lower Dumfries, New Brunswick, Canada, Lois was the daughter of the late John Harold Carson and Pauline (Young) Carson.

Lois pursued a career in nursing, a profession she cherished and in which she took great pride. Her dedication to caring for others touched countless lives over the years. She retired in 2000 from MidState Medical Center, formerly Meriden-Wallingford Hospital, after many years of devoted service.

A longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Southington, Lois found strength and fellowship through her faith community. Outside of her professional and church commitments, she was an avid knitter and quilter whose creativity and craftsmanship brought warmth and comfort to family and friends alike. Many treasured handmade gifts stand as lasting reminders of her love and generosity.

Lois is survived by her son, Neal S. Dwelley and his wife, Christine; her daughter, Kathryn Johnson; her grandchildren, Sasha, Neal D., Hannah, John, and Kathryn Heather; and her great-grandchildren, Zoe, Triella, Neal L., Mia, and Parker.

She is also survived by her brother, Dr. John Carson and his wife, Judy; her sisters, Cora Killburn, Dr. Joan Vickers, and Valerie Hagerman; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Besides her loving husband, Lois was also predeceased by her brother, Fred Carson.

A visitation for Lois will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT. Burial will take place at Brewer Cemetery in Robbinston, ME beside her beloved husband, 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
