Leonard Gary Francis Sr.

Pleasant Point - Leonard “Itchy Baby” G. Francis Sr. born January 12, 1957 in Eastport Me, the son of Daniel A. Francis and Rebecca C. (Dana) Francis of pleasant point, passed away unexpectedly in Calais Maine on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
Itch earned his GED in 2015 and worked many years prior as a seasonal worker and as a tribal worker in various professions. Most recently he worked with Tony LaCoute’s moving company. He was an avid hiker, raker, carpenter and lover of the beach. He could play the spoons like no other. Was an award winning horse shoe player. His most fondest times were spending time with his family on the beach. As well as cook outs and family time at his home in Sipayik.
He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, father in law Stan Bailey, twin brothers Daniel and Dennis, great nephew U-neeq, brother in law James, sister in law Carolyn, many aunts, uncles and dogs daisy and pepper.
He is survived by his wife Mary-Jo, children Thomas, Leonard “Lenny” Jr, and Dawn. Grandchildren, Maya, Mason, Avayah and baby girl on the way, mother in law Betty, Siblings John ”Peck” Sr and companion Edna, Carrol ”Coff”, Mary “Deborah” and husband Edward, Linda and life partner James, Dean, Michelle and husband Gary. Nephews whom he raised as his own children Dustin and Dan. “Favorite” niece Jasmine, special niece Charla Morrison and nephew Daniel Smiley, Aunt Annabelle, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great great niece Haven and great great nephew Asher.
Visiting hours will begin 12 noon Thursday, October 14, 2021, until 9:30 am Saturday, October 16 at the Pleasant Point Elder Meal Site. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 16 at the Pleasant Point Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
