Pembroke – Leisa Faith Shannon, 59, passed away unexpectedly November 3, 2021 at her home in Pembroke. Leisa was born in Denver, CO on August 12, 1962, daughter of Audrey Cecil.

After attending school in Broomfield, CO, Leisa enlisted in the U.S. Army, where she met her future husband, Dale Shannon. Leisa and Dale were united in marriage on March 27, 1982. Leisa had a passion for helping others, especially the elderly. She worked throughout her life as an L.P.N., specializing in Dementia Care. In 2010 she received the Dementia LPN of the Year in the state of Georgia. Most recently Leisa was employed as a L.P.N. with Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Leisa enjoyed reading and was a member of the Calais Rod & Gun Club. She also was President of Cobscook Unit 59 American Legion Auxiliary in Pembroke and served as the District President for Washington County.

Surviving are her husband Dale Shannon of Pembroke; her mother Audrey Cecil of CO; three children, Michael Shannon and wife Jennifer of Amherst, NH, Maegan Shannon of Pembroke, and Ryan Shannon and husband Brody Stara of Boston, MA; four grandchildren, Hannah, Kylianne, Liliana and Norilee Shannon; two sisters, Dana Trujillo and Lynda Brown, both of CO; a brother Morgan Norris of CO; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 am Friday, November 12, 2021 at Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke. A Celebration of Leisa’s Life will follow at the American Legion, 92 Front St., Pembroke, ME 04666. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leisa’s memory may be made to the Maine Veteran’s Home – Machias, 32 Veterans Way, Machias, ME 04654. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
