It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Willard Clark, a beloved member of our Eastport community, who departed this life on October 9, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on February 8, 1942, in Eastport, ME, Kenneth led a life filled with service, dedication, and a passion for his craft.
Kenneth's journey began with his honorable service in the United States Coast Guard, where he traveled the world and developed a deep appreciation for the values of duty and commitment. Following his service, he channeled his talents into a fruitful career in plumbing and heating, establishing Clark's Plumbing and Heating alongside his cherished wife, Ruth, and son, Richard. His influence extended beyond his business, as he also imparted his knowledge by teaching heating and gas at Washington County Community College. Kenneth's legacy in the plumbing industry is marked by his unwavering dedication and the respect he earned from those he worked with.
A proud member of the American Legion and a 50-year member of the Masonic Eastern Lodge #7, Kenneth was deeply involved in his community. He enjoyed countless hours engaging in his hobbies, including collecting miniature trains, guns, and coins. His unique tradition of firing off his mini cannon during holiday celebrations brought joy and laughter to all who gathered with him, a testament to his one-of-a-kind spirit and vibrant personality.
Kenneth was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth; his parents, Willard and Laura Clark; his sister, Avis; and his son-in-law, Thomas Pottle. He is survived by his loving daughter, Joyce Pottle; sons, Richard Clark and his wife, Bobbie, and Kevin Clark and his wife, Susan; his companion, Cathy Chandler; and a proud grandfather to grandchildren Helen Newman, Dorothy Garcia, Thomas Pottle, Sara Ricker, Adam Clark, and Brooke Porter. Kenneth will also be remembered by his special nephew, Corey Clark, and ten great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
Kenneth will be remembered for his remarkable service, craftsmanship, and the cherished traditions he cultivated with family and friends.
Visitation will take place at Blakey Memorial Methodist Church, 74 High St., in Eastport, ME, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 1 PM. A celebration of his life will follow at 2 PM. A private burial will occur afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's name may be made to the Blakey Memorial Methodist Church, PO Box 104, Eastport, ME 04631.
