It is with profound love and respect that we honor the life of Johnson W. McRorie, who was born on the 6th of March, 1954, in Columbia, SC. Johnson's spirit left us on the 26th of February, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and lifelong dedication to his passions. Johnson's life was a testament to his adventurous spirit, a trait that led him to explore new places and experiences.
John enlisted in the United States Army in 1972 and served until 1975 in the 509th Airborne as a Ranger and in the 221st Military Police. Upon leaving the Army, John started his education achieving an Associate of Arts degree in Nursing and starting his career as a Registered Nurse. As weekend entertainment, John worked with the local rodeo company as a clown performing skits in between events and distracting bulls when the bull rider fell off. John met the love of his life Susan in Niceville, FL in the fall of 1981 where both were Registered Nurses at Twin Cities hospital. They were married June 5, 1982 after which they moved to Seabrook, MD to continue his education. His expertise was widely recognized, leading him to serve as an Adjunct Professor at Mississippi State University and numerous teaching roles in industry seminars. Johnson was a published author of numerous medical journal articles and academic texts.
Johnson was compassionate with a deep love for outdoor activities. He greatly enjoyed farming while he was in Ohio, cultivating a large garden and caring for horses, sheep, and cows. Summer vacations were spent at the family camp at Big Lake fishing and boating. His love for adventure, combined with his compassionate nature, made him a revered figure within his community. This loving spirit extended most deeply to his wife, Susan, who mattered most to him.
Johnson loved Jesus and was heavily involved with his local church, Urbancrest in Lebanon, OH. Johnson served numerous roles working in the nursery Sunday mornings caring for infants, teaching the kindergarten age group in AWANA on Wednesday nights and protecting the congregation as a security team member.
