Jeffrey Allen
Crowe
May 7, 1965 — Jul 23, 2026
Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Crowe, 61, of Cooper, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2026, at Calais Community Hospital. Born in Calais on May 7, 1965, he was the son of the late Merlyn Leander and Bernyce Emily (Grass) Crowe.
To know Jeff was to know kindness. He was the kind of man who could fix almost anything, but what people will remember most is the way he made people feel. He had a gift for making difficult situations seem a little easier, making people laugh when they needed it most and quietly putting others before himself. Once he got someone laughing, he considered it his mission to keep them laughing until they could barely catch their breath. His quick wit, playful spirit and unwavering loyalty made him a joy to be around.
Jeff graduated from Calais High School in 1983 and built a life centered on hard work, family and laughter. He dedicated 32 years to Woodland Pulp LLC, where his final position was as a dam attendant. The constantly changing nature of his work took him throughout the St. Croix Watershed, a responsibility he took great pride in. Along the way, he became a mentor to many, especially his "work son," Russell Lola, who started working alongside him on the dam and eventually became one of his closest friends. Jeff often joked that he was heading off to his "dam job."
There wasn't much Jeff couldn't fix. Whether it was a lawn mower, a vehicle, a radio or any number of small electronic devices, he loved figuring out how things worked and bringing them back to life. To his granddaughter, Exie, he wasn't just someone who could fix things-he was "Poppy," the man who could fix anything, from a broken car to her broken heart.
Jeff could often be found at camp, out on the pontoon, riding the side-by-side or casting a line where the fishing was good and the laughter came easy. Some of his favorite memories were made on fishing trips and late-night four-wheeler rides with Exie, Josh and Jenna. He loved blasting music through his radios and record player, thrift store trips with Terri Lynn and sharing meals with family and friends. Jeff found happiness in the simple things: a good meal, good music, time on the water and the people he loved.
He had a heart as gentle as it was strong. He loved animals deeply, especially his beloved miniature poodle, Buddy, who was his baby, and Joey, who always held a special place in his heart. He could be brought to tears by a song that moved him, could recite movie lines that everyone else had forgotten and never wanted anyone around him to feel left out or hurt. If someone was struggling, Jeff wanted to help. If something needed to be done, he simply did it-without complaint, without expecting recognition and without asking for anything in return.
Above all else, Jeff loved his family. He married the love of his life, Terri Lynn, on June 1, 1985, in a day the family still laughs about as "a great party." Together they shared 41 wonderful years built on love, loyalty and unwavering devotion. Providing for his family was one of the greatest joys of his life. He was endlessly proud of his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Jeff was predeceased by his sisters, Jeanette Williams, Constance D. Lockhart, Christine Bunker and JoAnn Cook; his brothers-in-law, Richard O. Williams, Joseph Fern and George H. Bunker II; and his nephew, Corey L. Williams.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Terri Lynn Crowe; his daughters, Tiffany Crowe and Sierra Crowe; his grandchildren, Exie Crowe, Joshua Cline and Jenna Cline; his siblings, Brenda Fern, Gerald Crowe and his wife, Robin, and Timothy Crowe and his wife, Diane; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his laughter, kindness and unwavering loyalty.
Although Jeff could fix almost anything, the one thing he could never repair is the hole his passing has left in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy lives on in every lesson he shared, every laugh he inspired, every helping hand he offered and every life he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Princeton Rod & Gun Club. Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Jeff's life, share stories, laughter and memories, and honor a man whose kindness, generosity and love touched so many.
