On December 19, 2025, James H. Spear Jr., a cherished son and devoted father, passed away at Norther Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. James was born on June 29, 1992, in Hampton, VA, USA, and filled his 33 years on earth with unwavering kindness, dedication, and love. He spent his formative years in Machias, where he cultivated a solid foundation for his later life. With a heart as large as the Maine skies under which he lived, James was known for his readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. James' journey in life saw him transition from the plumbing industry in Bangor to property management in Milo. His dedication to furthering his education and his commitment to his work was a testament to his indomitable spirit. Despite the demands of his profession, James always prioritized what mattered most to him: his children. His love for his children was profound and encompassed his world. He nurtured them with the same dedication he applied in every other aspect of his life, imparting his values of kindness, hard work, and resilience onto them. In his absence, James leaves behind his loving mother, Angel Hope of East Machias, and his dear children, Lilyan and McKenna Spear, whose lives he enriched with his love and wisdom. He also leaves behind his sister, Vanessa Spear of New Hampshire; his grandmother, Betty Bulmer of Cutler; great-grandmother Nancy Bulmer of Cutler; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. His legacy of generosity and determination will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. The depth of his impact is reflected in the hearts he touched and the love he shared.
