James P. Rundin

Calais - Jim “Grumpy” Rundin passed away January 15th, 2022 after years of declining health. Jim was born in Portland, Maine on January 11th, 1952 to Joseph C. Rundin and Helen (Fox) Rundin.

Jim moved to Calais Maine in 1979 continuing his work with the telephone company. Jim retired in 2003 after 32 years of service. Jim was a proud member and past president of Telephone Pioneers of America. His love of volunteer work included Special Olympics, Boy Scout Leader, and many local projects. Jim’s favorite pastimes were role playing games online, fishing with family and friends, 4H projects and spending time with family.

Jim was predeceased by both parents and a brother Joseph C. Rundin. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda (Carpenter) Rundin, his son Joseph P. Rundin and partner Courtney Aalto, his daughters Deni Wallace, Becca Higgins, and Alaina Scheuchzer and husband Andrew; five amazing grand children two great grandchildren in addition to 6 great grand pups, Lilly Lou being the latest addition. Jim also leaves behind two sisters, Mary Schmidt and Margret Bearor and a brother David Rundin.

At Jim’s request there will be no formal services, instead there will be a celebration of life at home around the fire pit with family and friends at a time to be announced this summer.
