Helen Louise Clark, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on December 23, 1964, in Calais, Maine, she was the daughter of Gordon "Eddie" and Helen (Murphy) Brooks. Helen's spirit, warmth, and compassion will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Helen graduated from Calais High School in 1982 and embarked on a new chapter in El Paso, Texas, where she worked various jobs for 17 years before returning to her cherished Maine roots. She dedicated the next 25 years of her life to Irving, rising to the position of store manager at the Irving Big Stop in Baileyville, where her commitment to excellence and her kind demeanor left a lasting impact on both colleagues and customers alike.
A lover of the great outdoors, Helen found joy in kayaking, swimming, and snowmobiling. Her adventurous spirit also took her around the world with her husband, John Clark, where they created cherished memories exploring diverse cultures and savoring unique cuisines.
Helen's family was her greatest treasure. She leaves behind her devoted husband John, her mother Helen Brooks of Pembroke, and three children: Amber Hammond and her husband Josh of Readfield, Myka Clark of Baileyville, and Garrett Clark of Baileyville. She also cherished her time with her exchange student Vee from Thailand, who she welcomed into her life as a daughter, her beloved grandchildren, Emmet and Walker Hammond, five sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will carry her spirit forward.
