Baileyville – Harvey Wellington Moholland, 94, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Harvey was born in Milltown on August 4, 1922, son of Fred and Eva (Sherman) Moholland. After attending school in Woodland, he went to work at a young age in the woods with his father. Harvey enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during WWII. Following his service he returned home and on March 5, 1949, married his love, Mary Johnson. Harvey started a career as a truck driver and eventually became an owner/operator, driving until his retirement in his 80’s. He enjoyed racing stock cars but most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Harvey was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary; a son Michael; two grandsons, Shawn and Michael; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie and Linda; and siblings, Fred, Phillip, Harry, Phyllis, Effie, Arlene and Norman. Surviving are his two sons, Babe Moholland and companion Sharon of Calais, and Bob Moholland and wife Gayle of Baileyville; five grandchildren, Rob Moholland and wife Janet of Charlotte, Tina Moholland of Robbinston, Becky Ireland of Howland, Traci Pottle and husband Jeremy of Baileyville, and Mandi Curran and husband Jay of St. Stephen, NB; 14 great-grandchildren, Shaylea, Felicia, Bobby, BJ, Damon, Sami, Lexi, Emi, Reed, Tori, Brogan, Nathan, Jayden and Ethan; his sister Hilda; special nephew, Mike MacArthur and companion Sherry of Calais; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Harvey’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will be held in Brewer Cemetery, Robbinston, at a later date.
