It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved "Babe" Harvey F. Moholland ,75 who passed away at his home with his wife Sharon by his side on October 17, 2026.
Babe was born on August 23, 1951, to Harvey W. Moholland and Mary Johnson Moholland in Calais, Maine. Babe was the middle child of three boys. When he was a teenager, he started his career in the trucking industry. He spent over 50 years driving big rigs. From driving from state to state for Fred Moholland Trucking to hauling chips and logs for Orland, Dwelley & Sons. Later on Babe started his own trucking business, called "Babes Trucking" and eventually retired hauling craft to Eastport for Alan Curtis Trucking. For years, he also enjoyed hauling wreaths and trees every holiday season with Mingo's Evergreen.
Babe was known as the "Pink Panther" or "Pink "on the CB radio, and loved the banter from his fellow drivers. He also played years of softball with his "buddies". His favorite team to play on was called "The Smoky and the Bandits" and he looked forward to every game. He also cherished his time racing stock cars at Cedar Mills Speedway in Saint Stephen and also Speedway 95 in Bangor with his brothers and father. He thoroughly enjoyed the harassing of his brothers after he accomplished a big win against them.
Babe was the epitome of integrity, hard work, strength, and love for his family. His sense of humor and joking nature could lighten up a room, and his bearhugs made everything better.
His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and with his family. One of the Babe's proudest moments was when his granddaughter, BJ Moholland, decided to follow in his footsteps by obtaining her CDL to drive truck. He beamed with pride. Babe will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Babe is pre-deceased by his parents, Harvey W. Moholland and Mary Johnson Moholland. His first wife and mother of his girls, Bonnie Lee Carlow Moholland. His brother Mike Moholland and sister-in-law Linda Moholland. Several nephews and cousins who he loved dearly.
Babe is survived by his wife, Sharon Moholland, whom he has spent his last 26 years with. His daughters, Tina J. Moholland, better known to him as "My PeeWee". Traci Moholland Pottle (Jeremy), his very special brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Moholland and Gayle Moholland, three stepchildren, Eric McDonald (Jody), Amber Sloat (Brad), and Tara Grey. Grandchildren, Tori Edwards (Nik), BJ Moholland, Brogan Brown (Kelli), Nathan Pottle, and Damon Moholland. Four step grandchildren, Kaeson Dana, Wyatt Short, Gabriel and Noah Sloat. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his very best friend and partner in crime Skip Johnson.
There will be a graveside service to honor Babe on November 1, 2026 at 1:30pm at the Red Beach Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
