Calais – Harriet Ann Hachey, 78, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Harriet was born in Hartford, CT on January 28, 1943, daughter of Harris and Lucy (Grant) Hill.
Harriet graduated from Calais High School, Class of 1961. She worked in healthcare most of her life, including Gardner Nursing Home in Calais, Goodwill Homes in Fairfield, and when she moved to Florida she worked at various home health settings. In 2010, Harriet moved back to Calais. She enjoyed crafts, reading, walking on the beach, and fishing and hunting, shooting her last deer in 2010.
Harriet was predeceased by her father Harris Hill; her mother Lucy Metta; a sister, Roberta Thompson; and her fiancé Chester Quinn. Surviving are her son Larry Featherson and wife Tiffany of Harrah, OK; grandson Jack Hanscom of Harrah, OK; her siblings, Camille Hawkins of Wesley, Dianne Sicari of NY, Samuel Metta and wife Donna-Jean of Machiasport, Nicholas “Butch” Metta Jr. of Machias, and George Metta and wife Patricia of Baileyville; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Maine Medical Center in Portland and the Sussman Hospice House in Rockport for going above and beyond in the care they provided to Harriet.
A private committal will take place in the Round Pond Cemetery, Charlotte, at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
