Obituary

Harold Stevens, a beloved father, skilled carpenter, and lifelong resident of Indian Township, Maine, passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Born on August 21, 1950, to the late George and Pauline Stevens, Harold embodied the spirit of his ancestry and left an indelible mark on all those who were fortunate to cross paths with him. A graduate of Woodland High School and Northern Maine Technical College, Harold's passion for construction and craftsmanship saw him serve the community he loved so dearly, with stints at the Indian Township Public Works and Indian Township Housing Authority. His skills as a carpenter were admired by all, but it was his unwavering love for his family and friends that truly defined him. Harold had a rare ability to light up any room with his warmth, and his home was a haven for many, filled with laughter, stories, and memories that will be cherished forever. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by two siblings, Maryellen Stevens and Augustine Stevens Sr.; a niece Wendy Lank; and three nephews, Gerald, Richard "Big Pun", and Gary Stevens. Surviving are his four children, Randy, Scott, Billy Jo, and Shannon; several grandchildren; siblings, Betty LePage and husband, Herb of Skowhegan, Kevin Stevens and wife, Eleanor, Harry Stevens, Charles Stevens, Beverly Stevens, Seraphine Bassett, Benjamin Stevens, Regina Stevens, Garry Stevens and wife Donna, Richard Stevens, Gerald Stevens, Judy Stevens, Millie Sockabasin and husband, Henry, Norman Stevens, and Ashley Stevens, all of Indian Township; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held at The Pines, 85 US Route 1, Indian Township, beginning 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025, until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Roland Berngeh 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at St. Ann Church, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements are by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
