Obituary for Harley Raymond Gilchrest

Meddybemps – Harley Raymond Gilchrest, 70, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor surrounded by his family. Ray was born in Fitchburg, MA, June 8, 1936, son of the late Clarence and Loretta (Dupuis) Gilchrest. He married Lorraine Perkins in Meddybemps on July 5, 1965. Ray was a self employed auto mechanic, owning and operating Rays Getty in Clinton, Mass. He served in the Army National Guard in Mass. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding ATV’s, and spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of over 41 years, Lorraine Gilchrest; two sons, Norman Gilchrest of Clinton, Mass., and Sean Gilchrest and wife Stacey of Leominster, Mass.; two sisters, Theresa Streeter and husband Kenneth of Berlin, Mass., and Lynn Gilchrest of Webster, Mass.; a brother, Charles Gilchrest and wife Jean of Berlin, Mass.; a special sister-in-law, Charlene Hamilton and husband Larry of Pembroke; two grandchildren, Seth Gilchrest and Joey Bostwick; many nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Princess.
