We gather together to remember and honor the life of George D. Bailey Jr., who left us too soon on December 25, 2025, at the tender age of 24. Born on May 8, 2001, in Calais, ME, to parents Molly Lola and George Bailey Sr., George was a beacon of joy, resilience, and love.
George was a proud graduate of Lee Academy, Class of 2019. His passion for the outdoors was not only a hobby, but also a vocation, as he was a dedicated Trail Crewmember with the Ways Trail Crew. He spent his days maintaining trails throughout New England, ensuring that the beauty of nature was accessible to all. When he was not tending to the trails, George was an avid video game enthusiast, enjoyed swimming, and cherished time spent with friends and family. His love for life was infectious, and he had a unique knack for making every moment count.
George was predeceased by his father, George Bailey Sr., and his grandparents, Alice Lola, Beverly Merryfield, and Audrey and Douglas Bailey. He leaves behind his loving mother, Molly Lola, and his two sisters, Brooke and Ravennah Lola. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Kathy Lola, Keith Lola and Kori Haines, Kim Lola, Janet Lola, Danny Lola, Ernest Lola, Richard and Mary Bailey, Amy Swenson, and Rita and William Avery; many cousins; his best friends, Zachary Lola, Wambli Martinez, Eric Plaisted, Hunter Libby, Alex Tomah Jr., Ryan Newell, and Connor Lola. George's memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his Ways Trail Crew family, who were not just colleagues, but his second family.
