In Loving Memory of Frederick John Carrier
Frederick John Carrier
February 23, 1938 - August 28, 2026
St. Stephen, New Brunswick
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick John Carrier on August 28, 2026 at the age of 88. Fred was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, on February 23 1938.
Fred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Michael J. Carrier and Julie Carrier, Scott Carrier and Crystal Carrier, and Tonya Crowden. He was a proud grandfather to Courtney Carrier and husband Dylan, Devon Carrier and partner Seamus, Dylan Carrier, Colby Carrier, Darian Crowden, Don Crowden and wife Trystan, and Devon Sutton. He will also be lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Drew Hess and Sophia Crowden.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Doris (Cassidy) Carrier, and by his beloved wife of 43 years, Gertrude (Frigault) Carrier.
Fred worked as a millwright for many years in Princeton, Maine and later in Pennfield, New Brunswick, where he spent his working years providing for his family and building a life he was proud of.
Fred enjoyed fishing, bowling, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Some of his greatest joys came from watching his grandchildren grow up. He rarely missed an event or gathering and especially looked forward to the family's weekend breakfasts, where time spent together and making memories meant everything to him. Fred was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church of Calais, Maine.
Fred will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His love for his family, his quiet presence, and the many memories he created with those he loved will remain in their hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
The family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to the staff of Shoreside Haven Special Care Home for the exceptional care, kindness, compassion, and love they showed Fred during his time with them. Your dedication and the comfort you provided to Fred and our family will always be remembered and deeply appreciated. We are forever grateful for everything you did for him.
A private family graveside service will be held. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared at www.MaysFuneralHome.com
