Fred Arnold Lund Jr., 93, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 with family by his side.  Fred was born in Pembroke on July 21, 1930, son of Fred and Edith (Mahar) Lund.

After attending Pembroke schools, Fred moved to Connecticut at the age of 17.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, earning the Purple Heart.  In 1951, he started his career with tree work.   Fred married the love of his life, Marguerite Huntoon, on June 19, 1959.  That same year he established his own tree company in West Springfield, Massachusetts.  In 1982, Fred retired and eventually moved back home to Pembroke.  He enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Edith Lund; his wife Marguerite Lund; two children, Allan Lund and Darci Ryan; three brothers, Kendall, Neil and Frank Lund; and two sisters, Rebecca Davis and Helen Lund.   Surviving are two children, Pam Carroll and husband Tim of Pembroke, and Eric Lund of Atlanta, GA; two special grandsons, John and Brad; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Darrell Lund of NY; sister-in-law Celia Lund of Eliot; and many nieces and nephews.
