Pleasant Point – Flora Mae Sapiel, 52, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2018. Flora was born on January 5, 1966 to Mary Nicholas and Francis Sapiel, of the Passamaquoddy Indian Reservation, the youngest daughter of nine children. She was the kind of woman who always left a footprint wherever she went with her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.
Flora will be missed by her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren; Brett Sapiel and his companion Hydee Newell and Natasha Sapiel and her companion Joseph Francis-Stevens; grandchildren, Hope Sapiel, Teigyn Sapiel, Taijrien Sapiel, Isaiah Francis-Stevens and Zaila Sapiel.
May she fly high with the eagles and be welcomed by her parents and siblings who have all passed on before her.
Visitation will be held at the home of Brett and Hydee Sapiel, 31 Back Rd., Pleasant Point from noon, Wednesday, June 6th until 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 8th. A celebration of Flora’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 8th at Split Rock, Pleasant Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
