Obituary

Evelyn L. "Peggy" Bryant, age 83, of Grand Lake Stream, Maine passed away on August 9, 2025 with her devoted family by her side. She was born on March 19, 1942 in Brewer, Maine to the late Robert and Marjorie (Arey) Campbell of Washington County, Maine. Peggy, as she was affectionately known, was an incredible role model and shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was an admirable example of integrity and love. Her journey was one of compassion, love, resilience, strength, and a profound commitment to those she held dear. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and others whose lives who she touched. We, Peggy's family, ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and the profound impact it had on the lives of those around her. Peggy's life was a rich tapestry of achievements and experiences. After graduating from Calais Memorial High School in 1960, she embraced a variety of professional roles from telephone operator to home health aide at Calais Hospital and beyond. Ultimately, she retired from Georgia Pacific in 1993. However, her career was only one aspect of her multifaceted life. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved to spend time with her family never missing an opportunity to host a family gathering over the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays! These celebrations created lifelong memories that will forever be cherished and carried on throughout generations to come. She captured the amount of love shared during these celebrations and various others by way of photos. Her love for life and how immensely proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren is portrayed in these images. She spent countless, happy hours editing and printing her photos, making scrapbooks, and creating family photo albums. She was a passionate collector with a deep appreciation for artistry. Her collections ranged from Beanie Babies, pottery, and stamps, but it was her Barbie collection she enjoyed the most often taking her to blueberry fields for pictures and collector conventions. She found joy in the creative outlets of photography, quilting, and scrapbooking. These hobbies were a testament to her artistic spirit. Her life was full and vibrant. She left an incredible mark on those close to her. Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we live a life of meaningful acts of love and perseverance. Peggy is predeceased by her father, Robert Campbell and mother, Marjorie (Arey) Campbell; her first husband, Francis Martin Pike; her brothers, Robert and Joseph Campbell; niece Colleen Meinkoth; great-grandson, Sawyer John Kendall; and canine companion, Dusty.
