Baring Plantation

Elaine M. Perkins, 86, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, following a brief illness.  Elaine was born in St. Stephen, NB, on December 26, 1935, daughter of Otis and Annie (Cornish) Doten.

Elaine had the biggest, kindest heart and was loved by all who ever had the pleasure of knowing her.  She worked various jobs as a cook and was well known by many for her delicious down-home cooking and would insist on feeding anyone who came through her door.  She loved her cats and dogs dearly, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband Earl Perkins; an infant son Randy Perkins; and a sister Jean Doten Newell.  Surviving are her children, sons Dean Perkins and wife Laurel, David Perkins and wife Margaret, and Todd Perkins and wife Elaine; daughters and caregivers Shelley Wallace, and Lana Faulkner and a special son-in-law Raymond Faulkner.

Elaine had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.  She enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren and not a day went by that at least one of the following wasn’t with her, grandson Randy Clark and wife Katie and great-grandchildren Kendra and Jaxon, grandson Chris Faulkner and wife Danielle and great-grandson Noah, and grandson Nathan Faulkner and fiancé Erin Cyr.  She will be deeply missed by all.

A graveside service will be held in the spring on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Baring Cemetery.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
