Elaine S. Hall

Elaine S. Hall, 93, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2024.  Elaine was born June 1, 1930, in Eastport, daughter of Virginia and Melvin Barrett of Eastport.  

 

Elaine attended Eastport schools and graduated from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1948.  She married Walter L. Hall on February 16, 1956.

 

Throughout her life she worked at the local sardine factories, Jacobson’s Wreath Company, R&M IGA, Rosie’s Hot Dog Stand, and the Quoddy Tides.  Elaine enjoyed attending Shead basketball games and her weekly lunch gatherings with her girlfriends, better known as the Q-Tips.   

 

Elaine is survived by her son Melvin Hall and wife Sandra of Charlotte; grandson Daryle Hall of Eastport; niece Tammy Ferris and husband Richard of Eastport; nephews James Baxter and wife Laura of York, John Baxter of Perry, and Lawrence Baxter (Brudo) of Eastport; special cousin Patricia Lane her husband Theodore; cousins, Gerald Barrett, Nancy Barrett Gromley and husband John, Cindy Barrett Black and husband Jeff, Susan Little Shapiro and husband Steve, Nancy Furman, Louise Wagner and husband Fred, Louis “Buster” Cook, and Jon Cook.

 

Elaine was predeceased by her husband Walter in June, 2001; a sister Geraldine “Gerry”; a very special cousin that was like a sister, Mary Little; an aunt Irma Mullen; uncles James Cook and Donald Barrett; and many friends.

 

At Elaine’s request, a graveside service will take place 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Hillside Cemetery, High St, Eastport.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Spencer’s Fund, c/o Susan and Stephen Shapiro, 19 Westridge Dr., Simsbury, CT 06070, Eastport Fourth of July Committee, Eastport Pirate Festival, or the Shead Athletic Boosters.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
