Obituary

Edwin Elliott Howe, 89, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Bangor. Edwin was born in Bath, Maine, on November 2, 1935, to Ernest and Dorothy Howe. Edwin's service to his country was profound and pivotal. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army with the 119th Infantry Regiment. Following his service, Edwin returned home, continuing to serve in the Army National Guard. His deep-seated patriotism was unwavering, a testament to his commitment to the land and people he loved. Edwin's professional life saw him as a supervisor with Superior Industries Corp in Connecticut, a role he played with relentless commitment, leaving an indelible impact. Outside his professional commitments, Edwin was a man of many talents and affiliations. As a proud member of the Annawon Lodge No. 115 A.F. & A.M., Knights Templar, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and the Pyramid Temple Shrine, Edwin served on the Drum and Bugle Corps, and was a prominent part of the W.T. Wren Post #23 American Legion in Baileyville. His faith found a home at the Church of the Open Bible in Alexander, where he was an active and devoted member. In addition to his parents, Edwin was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite (Hanson) Graham Howe; a brother, Harold Howe; and three special cousins, Arlene McLaughlin, Ethel Elsemore, and Margaret Campbell. Surviving are his wife's children, Linda Shaw and husband Gary of Oak Bay, NB, Brenda Gove of Cooper, Paula Farrar and husband Stephen of Calais, and Jeff Graham and wife Arlene of Orrington; eleven grandchildren, Laurie Pike, Terri Shaw, Kelly Richardson, Peter Hunnewell, Anita Doskis, Jamie Farrar, Nathan Farrar, Adam Hunnewell, Matthew Shaw, Ryan Graham, and Kym Graham; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In keeping with Edwin's wishes, there will be no services. Edwin was buried with military honors on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath.
